My story began at a drive-in restaurant, where a teenage carhop learned to move fast, listen closely, and serve people well. The owner asked me to train the new hires — and that simple moment planted a seed I didn't recognize for decades.
I carried those lessons from banking (where I created a teller training program) to the optical industry (where I grew a mom-and-pop shop into a chain and broke glass ceilings as a recognized leader). Clients came to me for business advice — and stayed for the human stuff. So I got certified in many coaching modalities and became a life coach and life strategist.
Twenty-seven years later, it still comes back to three lessons from that tray:
Speed: living in the moment, doing everything with intention.
Accuracy: verifying my thoughts, accepting wabi-sabi while intending to be my best self.
Customer service: Sawubona — seeing my clients, listening to them, and helping them hear their own wisdom.
